Gavin O’Neill
Group Managing Director – FEXCO

Gavin joined FEXCO in 2005 and was appointed group Managing Director in 2009.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants having qualified with Price Waterhouse in 1987.  He spent 14 years in various managerial roles, primarily in the Irish subsidiaries of multinational corporations, culminating in the position of Managing Director of Buckeye Technologies Ireland Ltd.
Gavin also holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from University College Cork and a Diploma in IT from Dublin City University.

Gerard Murphy

Gerard Murphy - Company Secretary of FEXCO HoldingsGerard joined the FEXCO Finance Dept. in 1989; he was appointed Finance Director of FEXCO Group in 1997 until 2001. He was then given responsibility for the Western Union Money Transfer Division as Operations Director until February 2009. This followed a one year secondment to the Western Union Corporation. In February 2010 Gerard was appointed Head of the Consumer Services Division and during December 2010 he was appointed company Secretary of FEXCO Holdings. Gerard qualified as a Certified Accountant in 1990.

Maurice Roche

Maurice Roche Executive Director of FEXCO HoldingsMaurice joined FEXCO in June 2006 as Chief Financial Officer and is a director of FEXCO Holdings. He held the position of Group Financial Controller at Dairy Gold Co-operative Society Limited from 1976 to 2003. This was followed by a two year period as Group Business Planning Controller at Dairy Gold Co-operative Society Limited. Maurice qualified as Chartered Accountant in 1975.

Dermot O’Shea

Dermot joined FEXCO in 1985; and is currently the Managing Director of the Merchant Services division. He has over twenty five years experience across various FEXCO operations namely; IT, Vat Processing, Senior Project Management, Business Development and Marketing. Dermot has been responsible for the Dynamic Currency Conversion product since 1997 and was appointed to lead the Merchant Services division in 2006 in its global expansion program. Dermot is also a director of FEXCO Holdings.

Gerard O’Sullivan

Gerard joined FEXCO as Head of Business Services division in March 2010 and is member of FEXCO’s Executive Management Committee. He has 20 years experience at senior executive levels in the areas of operations, finance, information technology, restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, financial planning and analysis with Booz & Company Inc. a global management consulting firm based in the United States. He also has significant experience in the shared services and outsourcing spheres. Gerard holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from University College Cork and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.

Joe Redmond

Joe is a member of the Group Executive of FEXCO, with responsibility for the Group’s existing Irish, UK and International Foreign Exchange operations and the strategic development of new international markets. Prior to joining FEXCO, Joe held an Executive position with Bank of Ireland Group where his responsibilities included the management of the Banks Foreign Exchange, Payments, Electronic Banking and ATM operations. He held a number of Bank of Ireland Group board directorships and was a founding member, and Managing Director of the Group’s highly successful Foreign Exchange company; First Rate Enterprises.
Joe holds an MBA from the Henley Management College, served as a director of the Irish Payments Services Organisation and is a member of the Institute of Bankers in Ireland.

Tony Sweeney

Tony joined FEXCO in October 2012 as Head of Internal Governance. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland (CAI), Tony trained initially with PriceWaterhouse in Dublin and has worked subsequently in a range of different industries with over 15 years practical experience in the areas of Governance, Risk and internal Audit. Tony has worked with companies such as SSE plc, Airtricity Ltd, Dublin Airport Authority plc, Bord na Móna and Irish Pride Bakeries.  Tony graduated from University College Dublin in 1980 with an Honours B.Comm degree, and is a current member and former Chairman of the CAI Risk and Audit focus group. In addition Tony served as a member of the Audit Committee of both CAI and the Department of Social Protection (DSP), holding the position of Chair of the DSP Audit Committee for a number of years.
