Corporate Social Responsibility

FEXCO recognise the contribution a business makes to its economic, social and environmental concerns. Our social responsibility charter is centred on the core values of the organisation: innovative partnerships, team work, integrity and trust, and diversity.

We strive to consistently emulate our values in our approach to managing our business relationships with our staff, business partners and clients. Our corporate responsibilities are maintained through the following areas:

Support and Benefits for our staff

At FEXCO we recognise the importance of getting the Work-Life Balance right and a programme was established to help employees manage their work and personal lives, delivering both achievement and enjoyment. This is accomplished by creating a work environment that is sensitive to an individual’s needs and responsibilities’. This includes flexible working arrangements, career breaks, parental leave etc.

The company also provide additional Annual Leave based on length of service with an additional 2 days annual leave for all members of staff with 5 years service and a further 3 days for those with 10 years service.

FEXCO has a very active and vibrant Sports & Social Club that is financially supported by the company. FEXCO supports this initiative as it enhances staff motivation. The Sports & Social club promotes varied activities such as charity events, family activities and weekends away.

Employee Assistance Programme, this is available to all FEXCO employees and their immediate families. The EAP programme is a free service providing confidential, independent advice, support and assistance on any matters impacting on an individual’s work.

The Health and Safety of staff, contractors and visitors is of the utmost importance within FEXCO. We strive to take a pro-active approach in the area of health & safety, and we’re continually working towards increasing staff awareness. The Group Health and Safety manager co-ordinates and manages the Health & Safety function through the use of representatives within each business unit.

After a qualifying period members of staff are invited to join our Company Pension Scheme.

The Company Intranet Site enables staff to have convenient access to a multitude of facilities and supports effective communication of corporate information.

In conjunction with other leading companies, FEXCO is a member of Group Scheme an employee services network that provides a variety of financial, personal, travel, shopping and leisure services at preferential rate.

Training and Development

The capability, intelligence and energy of our employees and ensuring they have the best possible skills are key elements in the achievements and success of FEXCO. Huge investment is made in learning and development activities across the FEXCO group. Promotional and Training/Development Opportunities provide personal enhancement for each individual. Our staff have a real opportunity to advance their careers given the scale and diversity of the organisation.

Environment

FEXCO promotes environment awareness throughout all its offices / buildings with a number of initiatives in place for Recycling paper, plastics, equipment, etc. Different bins are available to segregate all items. FEXCO buildings also have energy saving lighting in place that automatically time out when there is no human presence in the room. The various quality control standards require all manuals to be viewed on screen, thus reducing paper, ink and printer usage. As a company we continually look to new areas to reduce our carbon footprint.

Cycle to Work Scheme

In January 2009, a tax incentive scheme was designed by the Irish Government to encourage employees to travel to and from work. Many of our people live within an easily accessible radius of their workplace and have thus availed of this scheme; resulting in noticeably less congested company car parks.

Quality Control Standards

Many areas within FEXCO have secured and adhere to quality control standards. Most notable are the ISO 9001:2008 Standard and the CCA – Contact Centre Association Standard. These controls standardise work processes and enable life to be simpler, at the same time delivering high quality service to customers and continually improving procedures and work practices.

Infrastructure

FEXCO’s corporate buildings, though attractive and modern are designed to blend into the surrounding environment. Much use is made of local quarry stone in their façade. Trees have been planted in the surrounds and existing hedgerow has been maintained where possible. FEXCO’s headquarters are based on the site of Killorglin’s old railway station. Great care has been taken to retain the old features of its external frontage. The original limestone façade has been restored to its former glory.

Sponsorship and Charities

FEXCO has always been keen to sponsor local organisations and has over the years made contributions to sports clubs, fundraising and community events. Generous subscriptions are also given to many charities each year the following are some examples; Enable Ireland, Young Musician of the Year, Share a Dream Foundation, Irish Kidney Association.

FEXCO also facilitates and supports its people to give both time and money to charitable causes. An example of this is the Barretstown Children’s Charity, which FEXCO has supported for the past number of years through fundraising, staff volunteering to work on site and wage deductions. All old mobile phones are returned to the FEXCO Software Group dept and they are given to the Anthony Nolan Trust charity. Our employees always have an overwhelming desire to respond to any international catastrophe, as was very evident with the recent Haiti disaster. Collections and fundraising events were organised very quickly and the funds raised were given to an organisation to aid the Haitians.

Community

FEXCO has, since its inception been at the heart of the development of the local community in an economic and social capacity. FEXCO has always been highly regarded for its generosity to local and national charities and support to good causes in general. FEXCO employees have always involved themselves in community activities. One such community facility is the local childcare facility, Scamps and Scholars. Employees of FEXCO are involved in the management committee and FEXCO has always supported the facility as it recognises the contribution it makes in enabling staff to continue working with young families.

Marketplace

At FEXCO we have always prided ourselves on our reputation for providing superior customer service and for building and securing relationships with our clients. We continue to do this by requesting customer feedback and having open and honest relationships with our clients / partners. FEXCO’s tagline is ‘Your trusted partner’ and this is built into all our actions. FEXCO invite partners and clients to come onsite on a regular basis. In this weak economic environment, we will do our part to support recovery in this market. FEXCO’s respected and proven reputation is a source of great pride to us and one we will endeavour to maintain and uphold.
