Fexco Women in Payments 2025: A Day of Insight, Innovation and Inclusion
On 9th October, Fexco proudly hosted its 6th Annual Women in Payments event in Kerry. As always, the day delivered thought-provoking discussions, authentic perspectives, and inspiring stories from our incredible panellists, moderators, and attendees.
From exploring Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) in the workplace, to addressing challenges faced by female founders, debating AI’s role in online safety, and innovating for accessible payments, the event sparked meaningful conversations and left everyone with fresh insights.
The Inspiring Discussions
DE&I – Backslide: Rolling Backwards
Speakers: Karen O’Regan (Accenture), Michelle O’Keeffe (Platform 55)
Moderator: Julie Banks (Fexco)
Policies and conversations around DEI have faced setbacks globally, but the message was clear: we have the power to drive change. A collective voice must remain strong, ensuring space for vulnerable communities despite geopolitical challenges.
Female Founders – Challenges, Highs and Lows
Speakers: Gosia Keating (KPI Payments), Amy Neale (Delta Partners), Karina Murray (AunuaGlobal)
Moderator: Annette Donnelly (Fexco)
This inspiring panel explored the unique hurdles women entrepreneurs face compared to their male counterparts. Practical advice included understanding your market and building diverse networks.

“The bigger your surface area, the more chances luck has to find you.”
DE&I – Inclusive Workplace for All
Speakers: Joanne McCarney (Vision Ireland), Adam Kershaw (Fexco), Mairead O’Mahony (Vision Ireland)
Moderator: Aideen Ledwith (Fexco)
Creating inclusive workplaces starts with listening. Mairead encouraged asking rather than assuming when supporting colleagues with disabilities. Online Safety and AI
Speakers: Rena Maycock (Chirp), Joan Mulvihill, Paul Jordan (CEDPO)
Moderator: Shannon O’Sullivan (Fexco)
The panel discussed the risks and misuse of AI in both personal and work life. The topic of children having a parasocial relationship with AI was also talked about, and the steps we can take to protect children in a digital-first world.
Key takeaway:
AI isn’t going away, so it’s up to us to ensure it’s used responsibly and ethically.
Accessible Payments, Designing for Everyone
Speakers: Adela Buliman (Vially), Anne Cullen (Fiserv), Drew Soinski (JP Morgan and Chase)
Moderator: Sinead Mullan (Fexco)
Accessibility in payments is more than compliance; it’s about dignity and equal opportunity. The discussion highlighted the progress that has been made, and the need for continued innovation to create inclusive financial experiences for all.
Finishing on a Keynote with Anna Daly
Fexco CEO Neil Hosty sat down with broadcaster and entrepreneur Anna Daly to explore her journey from marketing to television and her ethical clothing brand, Little Bliss.
Anna shared candid insights on resilience and kindness in the age of social media:
“For every 50 kind comments, one harsh one can cut through the noise—so let’s choose kindness.”
